What Happens During Clinical Hypnotherapy?

🤫 Have You Ever Wondered What Happens During a Hypnosis Session?

Many people want to stop smoking or vaping. Others want to feel more confident or less stressed. Sometimes, people want help letting go of bad feelings like anger, sadness, fear, or guilt. Some even want to bring down the loud noise of tinnitus in their ears (after they bring a referral form from their doctor, of course!).

Clinical hypnotherapy can help with all of these things!

But many people don’t know what happens during a real session. They think it might be like a magic show on TV. It is not!

A real clinical hypnosis session is safe, calm, and very helpful. Here is what you can expect when you come to see me.

1. We Talk First 🗣️

Before we do any hypnosis, we talk. I want to know exactly what you want to change.

  • Do you want to throw away your last pack of cigarettes?
  • Do you want to stand up and speak without shaking?
  • Do you want to let go of old sadness, fear, or guilt?
  • Do you want to take tests or board exams with confidence and great memory?

We set a clear goal together. It is very important that you feel comfortable and safe. I actively listen and answer all your questions.

2. Getting Relaxed and Focused 🧘

Next, I will help you get very, very relaxed. I will speak in a soft, calm voice. I might ask you to:

  • Focus on your breathing.
  • Imagine you are in a beautiful, peaceful place, like a quiet beach or a warm forest.
  • Relax every muscle in your body, from your toes to your head.

You are not asleep! You are just very focused, like when you are daydreaming or reading a really good book. You hear everything I say, and you are in complete control of your entire body and mind.

3. Helping Your Brain Change 🧠

When you are that relaxed, your brain is ready to listen better. It is easier to make changes in the part of your mind where habits and feelings live.

During this time, I will give you “positive suggestions.” These are like new rules for your brain that we agreed on before we started.

  • For Stop Smoking/Vaping: I might say, “You are a non-smoker. You love smelling fresh air. Your body feels clean and healthy.”
  • For Confidence: I might say, “You feel strong and brave. You can handle any challenge.”
  • For Stress/Bad Feelings: I might say, “You are choosing to let go of guilt and shame. You feel lighter and happier.”

4. Coming Back Awake ⏰

When we are finished with the positive work, I will gently help you come back to normal awareness. I might count backward from five to one. By the time I get to one, you will open your eyes feeling refreshed, calm, and alert.

People feel wonderful after a session, like they have just had a long, peaceful rest.

Are you ready to stop a bad habit, feel more confident, or finally let go of stress? Clinical hypnotherapy might be the perfect tool for you.
